CAPITAL
CASCADE TRAIL - SEGMENT 2 PUBLIC MEETINGS
A series of public involvement meetings
were held for stakeholders from the city, county and
the community. The first public meeting was held on
February 5, 2004 followed by several neighborhood meetings
and community workshops. Each meeting provided the community
information related to the proposed design and program
formation of all four Segments including Segment 2.
The meetings identified visions and themes for the project
including: amphitheatre, centennial plaza, historic
significance, open space, passive park and stormwater
management. The community responded by voicing their
opinions and giving their comments to the project team.
The project team took the comments and developed a concept
for each Cascade Trail Segment.
Following community input,
a Preferred Concept Plan was developed and presented
to the Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) and the Technical
Coordinating Committee (TCC). The Intergovernmental
Agency Board adopted a preferred concept for each of
the four Segments on January 31, 2005.
