
PROJECT PURPOSE:
To improve safety and traffic flow efficiency; the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) widened Capital Circle Northwest from Commonwealth Lane to West Tennessee Street from three lanes to six lanes. The project required the construction of a regional stormwater facility south of West Tennessee Street. The contribution of Blueprint 2000 to this joint venture and in conjunction with the Blueprint philosophy, the facility was designed as a multi use pond. PROJECT LIMITS:
Project limits were from Commonwealth Lane to West of Tennessee Street on Capital Circle Northwest. This 1.991-mile roadway project consisted of upgrading the intersections to the West Tennessee Street, Tharpe Street, Hartsfield Road and Commonwealth Lane.
PROJECT SCHEDULE:
Construction began in late 2005 and was completed in September 2007.

The roadway project was designed, let and constructed by the Florida Department of Transportation, with advance funding provided by the Blueprint 2000 Intergovernmental Agency. M of Tallahassee, Inc. was the contractor that performed the work.
