REALIGNMENT ALTERNATIVES

The evaluation of realignment alternatives, which include segment 3 and segment 4, will also consider water quality improvements for any existing roadways to remain.

Segment 3 will be evaluated generally along the realignment depicted. As the study progresses, additional information may cause slight shifts in the alignments within the corridor in order to minimize or avoid effecting natural environmental, residential or commercial areas.

Segment 4 includes three alternative alignment corridors. Two of these realignments have two short sub alignments. The third alignment corridor in segment 4 follows the existing Orange Avenue alignment.

Alternative 4a is a realignment within segment 4. This alternative will curve through the south part of the Delta parcel and will affect the currently proposed FSU Master Plan for the Southwest Campus. Additional information and evaluation may cause slight shifts in this alternate alignment corridor in order to minimize or avoid effecting natural environmental, residential or commercial areas.

Alternative 4a1 is similar to Alternative 4a except that it uses the existing Orange Avenue alignment where it connects to Segment 3, for a short distance to bypass the eastern FSU Master Plan property, and then it leaves the Orange Avenue alignment and curves onto realignment. It then connects to and follows the remainder of the 4a
alignment. Additional information and evaluation may cause slight shifts in this alternate alignment in order to minimize or avoid effecting natural environmental, residential or commercial areas.

Alternative 4b is the same as Alternative 4a except that it connects to the existing Capital Circle south of Cascade Drive, which causes it to avoid the wetlands in the Delta parcel. Additional information and evaluation may cause slight shifts in this alternate alignment in order to minimize or avoid effecting natural environmental, residential or commercial areas.

Alternative 4b1 is the same as alternative 4a1 except that it connects to the existing Capital Circle south of Cascade Drive, which causes it to avoid the wetlands in the Delta parcel. Additional information and evaluation may cause slight shifts in this alternate alignment in order to minimize or avoid effecting natural environmental, residential or commercial areas.

Alternative 4c is an alignment along the north or right side of Orange Avenue. South (left) and center widening were considered at the corridor stage. It was determined that left and center alignment alternatives would not be considered further due to their effects on residential and developed properties and proximity to Grassy Lake. Additional information and evaluation may cause slight shifts in this alignment corridor in order to minimize or avoid effecting natural environmental, residential or commercial areas.

Aerial map depicting each of these realignment alternatives are below.
